Beginning January 9th we are moving into 2012 with our 21 day transformation. This means many things to me, New years resolutions usually last about 3 weeks and then we fall short of our goals feel discouraged and quit what ever it was that we set out to accomplish. I have a vision that this journey will takes us , yes all of us on an amazing adventure!

What if this year it could be different, what if this journey you set out to discover more about what makes you happy, what makes you feel alive, vibrant, motivated and strong. Your authentic SELF.

It takes 30 days to form new habits. If you can be dedicated to YOU in just 25 whats stopping you from moving forward to changing more habits each and every day beyond the 25 to 365 days!

Each day I am going to share my favorite quotes, lists ( I do love lists and I will read them to you in class) Each day we will discuss SANKALPA inner resolve, just like a resolution inner resolve is your work. I call this your own work! You can craft your own unique sankalpa to motivate you, guide you in the right direction and as a reminder that you are on an amazing journey!

Mastering anything new the process of just starting and getting beyond the first steps where everything feels awkward is 80% of the battle. This is why each day we are going to make small digestible positive changes over the course of the 25 days!

One yoga pose, one sankalpa, one habit at a time! Trying to do more than you can absorb will only make you feel discouraged. But taking smaller, manageable steps, one at a time ~ eating a little healthier ~ practicing yoga a little more ~  creating simple productive habits  ~ this is an amazing way to make positive changes and get super excited about life!

When you embark on this adventure the simple act of getting started and doing something will give you the momentum you need! You will soon be on positive path leading to awesomeness! One small step at a time leading to another amazing step. This path will take all of us to a beautiful and mystical place of self acceptance! Anahata my friends

So here's to YOU! Cheers!

Now that the Fall is here, and the pace of life has picked up from what it was in the summer, it can be easy to get swept away in the hustle and bustle of new activity.

Kids are settled into school, dancing, sports and activities. Now you can dedicate some time to yourself. Become self reliant, self nourishing, cast aside excuses and guilt and step on your mat. The benefits and the time to clear your mind are well worth the time, not to mention the energy which you will have more of after a yoga class.
We begin to have more gratitude, more self acceptance, clarity,  confidence and wisdom . . . less fear and stress and ultimately more peace.

I have 2 quotes to share
CORE INSPIRATION Assume the Best. What if, today you assumed the best instead of the worst? Wouldn't you rather live in a positive anticipation that this experience is only and always for your good, instead of dreading the worst? Really look at your life. Even when things feel intense, they have the power to make you stronger, wiser, and take you exactly where you are meant to transform and grow. EVERY time you start seeing from fear, remember the best is coming for you...and smile. SADIE NARDINI
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” MELODIE BEATTI

I first met Yoga when my  oldest daughter was about 2 years old. Yoga seemed to be the new “in” thing; the  latest fad; what all the cool kids were doing. I was looking for something to  get my ass into shape, and an excuse for some time away from my (beautiful) child. I decided to try it.

The studio I attended was in an odd part of town.  Surrounded by a trucker’s motel, a church of a certain denomination I had never  heard of, and a gas station. To say the least, the area didn’t provide that “Zen-like” environment I had envisioned a yoga studio would be placed in.

I  was nervous, not knowing what to expect. Wondering if I would look a fool
to  everyone else in the class. When I walked into the studio, there was a buzz
in  the air. People chatting quietly, placing their mats, getting ready for
class.  Some appeared to be meditating. I chose a spot near the front (I’ve
always been  a keener), unrolled my mat, and sat cross legged like the woman
next to me was  doing. Finally the lights dimmed, the music was playing, and
our practice  began. I found out later we were practicing Ashtanga yoga. There
was not much  instruction; I dove in and mostly copied whatever the people
around me were  doing. I began to sweat and realized how hard I was working, and how good it  felt. I practiced breathing the way the instructor told me to -
deep breath in  through the nose; long, exaggerated exhalation. I looked around and realized no  one was looking at me (I’m not that special) - they were too busy concentrating  on their own practice.

The exercise started to wind down. I felt good, but  was still wondering if Yoga was for me. The instructor encouraged us to lie down  on our mats, that we would be practicing our last pose, Savasana (I just learned  how to spell that). I laid down and felt a little uncomfortable. Was everyone  else doing this? Am I just suppose to lay here? With the sounds of chanting in  my ears (coming from the stereo), I began to relax and really enjoy just laying  there. I hadn’t done that since my daughter was born, maybe even longer. I  suddenly realized there was something wet running into my ears - I was crying. “Why am I crying?” I thought. The tears flowed out of me. An emotional release  of things I had been carrying around with me for years. Pain, fear, happiness,  loneliness …

I lay on my mat and wiped my tears and my heart felt like it  did when I was a little girl. And that is when I fell in love with

My Mantras

You don’t have to rub crystals and listen to Yanni to get into yoga.

Regular use of a yoga mat can help you kick aging in the ass.

Mean people suck.

Deep breathing is the most affordable stress reliever on the market.

Yoga shouldn’t be expensive.

Laugh out loud every day.

Practice seva. Pay it forward the yoga way.

Yoga is for inflexible people.

Yoga rocks!

Don’t be afraid to take risks both on and off the yoga mat.

Friends and family are your most precious commodity.

Yoga is the best therapy
